からして picks out one small detail and says it's enough to judge the whole: 名前からして、面白そうな店だ, "just from the name, it looks like an interesting shop".
It also means "starting with even this", when one example stands for everything: この映画はタイトルからして怖い, "this film is scary, starting with the title". If even the title is scary, the rest surely is.
It's often used for criticism: あの態度からして、反省していない, "judging from that attitude alone, he's not sorry".
The detail is usually something basic or first: a name, a title, an attitude, a way of speaking. Compare からすると, which is a more neutral "judging from".
