〜つもり

plan to, intend to

Verb dictionary form / ない form + つもりです

つもり states an intention: 来年、日本へ行くつもりです, "I'm planning to go to Japan next year". The verb before it is in the dictionary form, or the ない form for "plan not to": もう飲まないつもりです.

It's firmer than たい. 行きたい is a wish; 行くつもり is a decision you've made.

To ask about someone's plans, つもりですか is fine among friends, but can sound nosy to a superior: 何をするつもりですか can come across as "what do you think you're doing?". 予定 ("schedule") is the neutral alternative: 週末の予定は?
