わりに says something doesn't match what you'd expect from a standard: この店は値段のわりにおいしい, "this place is good for the price". 割 means "proportion", so it's "out of proportion to".

It follows a noun with の, a plain verb or adjective, or a な-adjective with な: 大変なわりに給料が安い, "the pay is low for such hard work".

It's very close to にしては. わりに is a little more colloquial, and is common with nouns of degree like 年 (age), 値段 (price), 大きさ (size).

On its own, わりと or わりに means "relatively, fairly": わりと簡単だった, "it was fairly easy". Don't confuse it with 代わりに, "instead".
