〜からある・〜からする・〜からの

as much as, a whopping (amount)

Number + counter + からある (size, weight) / からする (price) / からの (people, things)

After a large number, these emphasise how big it is: "as much as, a whole…". Each one goes with a different kind of amount:

からある: size, weight, length. 百キロからある荷物, "a load weighing a hundred kilos or more".
からする: price. 百万円からする時計, "a watch costing a million yen or more".
からの: a number of people or things. 一万人からの観客, "an audience of as many as ten thousand".

The number is always large and surprising, and the feeling is "at least that much, maybe more".

Compare ぐらい (N3), "about", which is neutral and doesn't emphasise size.

Examples

彼かれは百ひゃくキロからある荷物にもつを一人ひとりで運はこんだ。
He carried a load of a hundred kilos or more on his own.
会場かいじょうには一万人いちまんにんからの観客かんきゃくが集あつまった。
As many as ten thousand spectators gathered at the venue.
彼かれは百万円ひゃくまんえんからする時計とけいをしている。
He wears a watch that costs a million yen or more.
毎日二十まいにちにじゅっキロからある道みちのりを歩あるいて通かよった。
Every day, he walked a good twenty kilometres to get there.
この絵えは一億円いちおくえんからするらしい。
Apparently, this painting costs as much as a hundred million yen.
