をものともせず means bravely overcoming an obstacle as if it were nothing: 彼は大けがをものともせず、試合に出場した, "undeterred by a serious injury, he played in the match".

The noun is a hardship: injury, strong wind, cold, criticism, difficulty. The second half is an admirable achievement. The tone is praise, so it's common in sports reports and inspiring stories. You don't use it about yourself.

It's literally "not treating it as anything". Compare をよそに, "ignoring (others' feelings)", which is often critical, and を押して, "pushing through (one's own illness or others' objections)".
