までもない says something is so obvious or simple that there's no need to go as far as doing it: そんなことは言うまでもない, "that goes without saying".

までもなく continues the sentence: 確認するまでもなく、答えは明らかだ, "there's no need to check, the answer is obvious". 言うまでもなく, "needless to say", is a very common sentence opener.

The verb is usually one of saying, checking, going or asking. The logic is that the action would be overkill.

Compare ことはない (N3), "there's no need to (don't worry)", which reassures someone. までもない says the action is unnecessary because the answer is already clear.
